Council of Management

Consisting of the President, General Secretary, Treasurer, Past President, six Vice Presidents, and Chief Editors of IAS Journals and Special Publications, this is responsible for the ongoing management of the Association. It meets at least three times a year and takes important decisions on policy, funding and planning IAS meetings and initiatives.

IAS Bureau

The President, General Secretary and Treasurer collectively constitute the IAS Bureau. This means that they are legally responsible for the day-to-day running of the IAS INPO under Belgian law. The Bureau has no separate power over financial decisions, organisation, or operation of the IAS, all of which need to be ratified by the Council of Management.

Early Career Scientists Committee

The Early Career Scientists Committee (ECSC) is formed of young scientists who represent the upcoming generation of sedimentologists, ensuring that their voice is heard in the IAS. ‍ An Early Career Scientist (ECS) is a scientist with no more than 7 years of full time experience since completing their Ph.D. (excluding periods of parental or other care leave). The ECSC members are early career scientists active in sedimentological research as demonstrated by their publication record (minimum 3 research articles in peer-reviewed publications).
